Summer at The Street at Chestnut Hill

Minimalist vibes at Vince at The Street at Chestnut Hill

There's a hint of color at the edges of the leaves, the sun sets before 7:45pm, and suddenly it feels like summer is winding down. But don't pack those sandals away just yet; there is still more of this beautiful season to enjoy, especially at The Street at Chestnut Hill! Whether you're looking for al fresco dining, fitness activities, shopping, or a place to take the kiddos (or your puppy!), The Street has something for you. So grab your girlfriends, and head on over to The Street.

Dine at The Street:

Tendergreens - A chef-led kitchen, serving seasonal and responsibly-sourced food, Tendergreens is an amazing lunch option. I recently tried their beautiful nicoise salad (and, lest you think I was healthy, I followed it up with some serious cookies), which was fresh and delightful. Bring home one of their meals for an easy dinner, or some of their delectable watermelon agua fresca as a base for a summer cocktail.

Ronsky's - Tucked in the corner of The Street is a petite, Italian-inspired cafe from James Beard winning chef Ron Suhanosky. Pop in for a sandwich or salad, or for a small coffee and pastry pick-me-up after an afternoon of shopping. Ron also offers private dining for parties in the evening - he'll work with you to select the perfect menu and wines!

Fun at The Street:

Polkadog Bakery and Cafe - Get Scout out of the house and over to Yappy Hour at Polkadog! Polkadog creates locally-sourced, hand-crafted goodies for your pup, who is definitely a good boy and absolutely deserves it.

MiniLuxe - Gosh, MiniLuxe is the BEST, right? They have the prettiest colors, beautiful locations, and friendly technicians. Book your appointment online to get a little moment of mini luxury.

Shop at The Street:

Vince - Vince is my longtime go-to for minimalistic designs and go-with-everything basics. That's not to say you can't find something special there! At a recent trip to Vince at The Street I found a pale gray leather jacket on double secret sale. Come fall, this baby is going over jeans, dresses, pencil skirts and blouses, you name it!

J. McLaughlin - I know we're still talking summer, but if you're already thinking about that leaf-peeping trip to New Hampshire, J. McLaughlin has the perfect preppy looks (without the Nantucket, popped-collar bro vibe).

Splendid - Splendid makes my favorite, ultra-soft tees and perfect Labor Day BBQ dresses.

Legit Activewear - If you're as bored as I am with plain black leggings, head over to Legit to spice up your workout (or athleisure) gear! With unique athletic lines and designers, there is always something new to make sure you look great shaking at barre or sweating at spin.

Portobello Road - Portobello Road has been a mainstay of The Street since before The Street was The Street. With ultra-unique clothes, gifts, jewelry and decor, it's one of my favorite shops in Boston!

Take Home the Street:

Simon Pearce (Opening in September) - My favorite spot for gifts, Simon Pearce is quintessential New England luxury. Whether it's glass or pottery, literally no one doesn't love receiving one of their beautiful pieces.

The Container Store - My home office is also the guest room, so I am often in there frantically trying to tidy up on Friday afternoon before guests arrive. I picked up some modern, minimal desk accessories at The Container Store to help keep all my magazines and mail in check! Also, if you're getting ready for Back-to-School (uggggggh), they have all kinds of locker and dorm organizers.

Pottery Barn - Remember that Friends episode with the Apothecary Table? Even Phoebe loves Pottery Barn, because Pottery Barn is (insert Ross Gellar voice here) amazing. I don't know how they consistently come up with beautiful home designs, but one step in the door and I am ready to makeover every room in my house.

So many summer activities remain at The Street - see them all out here. Be sure to check out Live Music Thursdays! Did I mention The Street at Chestnut Hill is accessible from the Green Line D branch (there's also lots of parking)?  Head on out this weekend and enjoy more Summer at The Street!

Be sure to bring home Tendergreens watermelon agua fresca as a base for a cocktail!
