I am not one of those New Englanders who waxes poetic about falling leaves or pumpkin spice everything (note: "pumpkin spice" is just nutmeg). Summer is truly my favorite season, but I can't hold onto it forever, so this post is definitely the delineating line between summer and fall outfits. Now that we're switching gears, I wanted to focus on very simple classics that are going to complement the fall pieces already in your wardrobe.
First up, these metallic slides somehow walk the line between athletic and sleek, and they are insanely comfortable. I took them on a recent trip to Germany, and wore them through the airport, walking all around little villages (and even on some light hiking paths). They are also my go-to commuting shoes here in Boston - I refuse to wear sneakers with my work outfit on the train!
Love 'em or hate 'em; leggings continue to stick around. The key is to invest in quality leggings that don't get that shiny, see-through look after a couple of washes, and don't get saggy knees after a few hours wear.
