Here it is, mid-October, and suddenly I realize Halloween is sneaking up on me. Talk about "Boo!" It's time for costumes and candy-filled get-togethers, which means Halloween décor. My taste runs less literal (no plastic pumpkins or stuffed witches, please), and more eerie elegant (is that even a thing?). Fortunately, I have an easy solution for inexpensive decorations - my favorite thrift shop, Savers. I headed to my local Savers last weekend and picked up an assortment of thrifted autumn decorations, both polished (think: candles, baskets and vases - re-purpose them for Thanksgiving!) and eclectic (a cool Día de Muertos skull) to give my table, porch and home a unique, one-of-a-kind, spooky-chic look.
While I was there, I ran into one of Savers' in-store costume consultants. She helped me look through new and thrifted costumes and accessories, as well as the stocked shelves of make-up and wigs. There were so many costume choices for both children and adults! Savers also hosts free Halloween Costume Catwalk fashion shows every Thursday in October at 3:00PM to showcase the most popular and original looks to make your whole family spectacularly spooky.
Thanks to Savers one-stop Halloween shopping, all I have left to pick up is candy. Head on over to your local Savers and let me know what you find for your festive costumes or decor - share it with #ThriftorTreat!
