Welcome to ShoeBuy in the City! Locally based
ShoeBuy.com and I are collaborating on a series of posts celebrating Boston. Throughout the summer, I'll be traveling to some of my favorite streets in the city, wearing outfits and accessories inspired by the neighborhood. First up, the South End!
Bakeries and dog walkers abound on the tree lined streets of the South End, but don't let that fool you. This neighborhood is one of the most vibrant in the city; in constant motion and flux. There's something about the juxtaposition of the atmosphere (continual metamorphosis) and the architecture (uninterrupted streets of standard brownstones) that attracts chic restaurants, exclusive boutiques and a fashionable crowd of Bostonians.
It's this contrast between classic and modern that led me to this month's ShoeBuy Spotlight: The Spring Bootie. Courtney Barry, Merchandising Brand Manager at ShoeBuy, has some great advice on styling this transitional footwear. "Planning the perfect look is hard, especially with spring's temperamental weather," says Barry. "Wear your favorite booties with a lightweight dress to help ease the transition." But don't worry, these boots aren't just for flirty dresses, I love wearing mine with ripped-up denim. Barry agrees with me, "If you can't let your favorite distressed jeans go even when the temperature is rising, you can pair a breathable cutout bootie with your denim for that perfect edgy look". (I predict this will be my go-to look for the summer!)

Thanks, Sami! I am in LOVE with this pair - the heel is chunky enough that you can actually wear it around town!
