To get away from the breakneck pace of Marrakech, Mr. TBF and I headed to the Atlas Mountains and Kasbah Telouet. The landscape, people, history and architecture were overwhelmingly beautiful, and in the more relaxed environment, we finally took the time to purchase a Berber carpet. Negotiations in Morocco are a slow process - the room filled with dazzling carpets, the delightful mint tea, the deliberate back and forth - eventually a deal is struck, and you walk away with your magic carpet.
Speaking of magic carpets and traveling, Mr. TBF and I have long lamented the lack of an uncomplicated, straightforward way to get from our apartment to the airport. Taxis can be unreliable, and sure, the T works, but as a chronic over-packer, I loathe lugging my suitcase around. Enter Uber. Haven't heard of Uber? It's an amazing mobile app that connects you with a car service with one tap. Select a SUV, black car, regular taxi, or small car (at varying price points). Payment is linked to your credit card, so no worries about carrying cash. And! If you sign up for Uber with the promo code TBFUber14, your first ride is free*!
*First ride is free up to $20. New users only.
