Tonight is Fashion's Night Out, in many cities across the country and around the world. Now in it's third year, FNO was designed to support the fashion industry during a difficult economy. Honestly, I'm not entirely convinced that it is still necessary - many retail companies are making huge strides. Luxury group profits are up, mass retailers like Kohl's and The Limited are up, too. I won't go as far as Cathy Horyn did in her column; we don't need to abolish FNO. Hey, I think there is nothing wrong with a city-wide retail party! Let's just understand that it is what it is.
Speaking of city-wide party, won't you come join me and a group of Boston Bloggers tonight as we head out on a FNO Crawl across the Hub? We'll be starting at Copley Place for their 6:30 p.m. fashion show, then we'll be heading down Newbury Street. The marquee FNO Boston After Party is in Allston; we'll be hitting the Fashionably Late hard hitter Liberty Hotel for their after party. I'll be tweeting the evening, so you can meet up with us at any time tonight - find me at @BosFashionista and #FNOCrawl. I hope to see you out and about!
