After all of those combinations yesterday, it was enjoyable this morning to just throw on a little black dress. Some people may say that a simple black dress is too easy to be on a fashion blog, but I say that there is nothing wrong with sticking with what works! And, quite frankly, sometimes we need to be reminded that, while following trends is fun, and mixing prints and colors is interesting, and trying new styles is exciting, some things are perpetually chic.
I mean, isn't a little black dress the first thing that every stylist says you need in your closet? Right before great blue jeans or a white button down, or a black blazer? Some items just transcend trends and always look stylish. And we should spotlight these items from time to time, for winning a lifetime achievement award in fashion.

There is NEVER anything wrong with rocking the basic black sheath dress. It is a classic for a reason. It works for every occasion and looks like a million bucks!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful, classy dress.
ReplyDeleteBlack dresses never look cheap and suit most women. I've got quite a few of them in my wardrobe and I wear them even in summer.
Beautiful as always.

ReplyDelete@Jaime @ La vie...J'aime, Noelani, Miss A RIGHT?? The LBB is such a classic, it needs a tribute every now and again. Like you, Miss A, I have a few in my closet - a casual one, a not-so-casual one and a formal one...and a few others in between! It is nice to know that there is something in your closet that always, always works.

@Kavery, Brittany, Taj The sunglasses actually flip up ala Gaga in the "Papperazzi" video". Unlike Gaga, I look ridiculous when I flip them up.
ReplyDelete@Shanna-Marie Beattie Thanks, Shanna - I've been thinking about going a darker blonde color - you have a pretty blonde - what do you think?
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and CHIC!! Gorgeous simply Stunning from head to toe.
